Make Your Own Greeting Cards

By Jeff Von Ward

Greeting cards aren’t just for Christmas any more. According to How Stuff Works, Americans give out 19.2 million greeting cards each and every day of the year. Annually, we’ll shell out 7.5 billion dollars on canned prosy just to make sure our loved ones know how we feel. I guess we’re just a very generous and giving people that way. Which got me to thinking, with a whole slew of holidays coming up: St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day — not to mention all the birthdays in between — perhaps some of our readers might be able to save a little money by making their own greeting cards. With all the latest news about the economy, that might not be such a bad thing.

So I came across this easy-to-follow tutorial on Trusted Reviews which shows how to create your own greeting cards using Photoshop Elements or your favorite image editing program, including Paint Shop Pro, PhotoImpact, GIMP, or a full version of Photoshop. All you need for this project is some A4 glossy photo paper, standard printing paper, and a glue stick. 10-minutes later, you’ll have your very own hand-crafted greeting card! Not too shabby.

Be sure to check out the complete tutorial for step-by-step instructions and, hey, if you come up with anything fancy that you’re especially proud of, post it in the comments!
