Come Fly With Me

March 18, 2008

If you want to know why I always book a window seat when traveling, look no further than this awesome photo, “38,000 ft” from Mack Robison, our Photobird Photo of the Hour. At that elevation, Mack has captured some intriguing cloud formations, tufts of pink cotton candy in billowy profile above the caramel-hued horizon.

It’s so easy to submit your photos for possible inclusion in the Photobird Photo of the Hour: Simply view the photo from your photo album and click the “Submit for Photo of the Hour” checkbox. There is no limit to the number of photos that you can submit.

Save Big at Amazon.com

March 18, 2008

If you’re looking to save big on the latest camera and photo specials, be sure to check out this page, which details all of the latest offers available at Amazon.com. You can find savings on digital cameras, digital frames, accessories, cases and bags, and other items.

I happen to like my TAO 1.5-inch digital keychain frame, now available at 60% off, even though the reviews on Amazon are mixed at best. The keychain features a tiny LCD screen and can store up to 31 photos. It’s easy enough to load and update your photo selections on either a Mac or a PC using TAO’s proprietary software and a USB cable. One downside is the battery, which only carries about 2 ½ hours of “on” time. And, let’s face it, these photos aren’t going to win any awards for clarity when viewed on a 1 ½ inch LCD screen — reduced to 128 x 128-pixel 24-bit color JPEG images — but that’s hardly the point.

As long as you have the right expectations, this can be a fun way to view some mementos of your loved ones, or relive your latest vacation while waiting in that long line at the DMV.

Whether you’re buying a digital keychain frame or anything else on Amazon.com, be sure to click one of our Amazon.com links anywhere on Photobird.com. For each product you buy within 24 hours after your click, we get a small referral fee, at no additional cost to you. Your clicks and purchases allow us to continue to publish this blog and the Photobird Learning Center. Thank you for your patronage!
